Apple Readies Venue For iPad 3 Launch Event On 7th March!

Oh boy, March is already here and the wait is almost over. It’s time for the consumer tech giant Apple to announce its next tablet PC, the new iPad and Apple has already been rolling out invitations to the press to the launch event on 7^th of March.

In line with the annual release cycle, the new iPad is expected to be unveiled at the Yerba Buena Center for Arts located in San Francisco. The venue is already being decorated and prepped up for the launch event if the big hoarding posing the Apple logo with a splash of colors is any indication.

As we draw more closer to launch, evidence of what seems to be next generation iOS (apparently christened as iOS 6.0) has also started popping up. Besides that, the device will sport an amazing agglomeration of speculated features listed on the other side of the break.

For the uninitiated, there has been much talk about the screen which would be a Retina Display (with a 2048×1536 resolution ). Of course, there’s no official confirmation on that, but then there’s plenty of word suggesting such a possibility, but you never know until the ice is broke.

Secondly, the next generation iPad or the iPad 3 may carry a more powerful camera than the iPad which should be pegged at some 5 or 8 megapixels. Of course, there’s almost concrete indication that a quad-core chipset with extra RAM would be driving the device.

Other speculated features include Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE internet connectivity, and iOS 6.0 upgradability should the device be running iOS 5.1 at launch. With regard to the evidence of iOS 6.0, here’s an excerpt from Ars Technica you might want to take a closer look at:

[W]e began looking at iPad user agents coming from Apple’s corporate IP block in Cupertino and discovered that Apple appears to be surfing the Web using iPads running what looks like iOS 6.0. The whole listing shows iPads running iOS 5, iOS 5.0.1 (the current public release), iOS 5.1 (the upcoming release currently available to developers), and iOS 6. The iPads that appear to be running iOS 6 are also using a slightly newer build of WebKit—the older OSes all show WebKit 534.46, while the ones claiming to be iOS 6 show WebKit build 535.8.

Interestingly, 9to5Mac also reports that the prices of the new iPad will be just the same as iPad 2. Of course, the price of the iPad 2 will be slashed as and when the new device is launched.

It is worth noting that the iPad 3 specs and features listed above haven’t been endorsed by Apple or any associated parties in any regard, so you might want to take that with a pinch of salt.
